Three New Installations on West Broadway

http://downtowneugene.kval.com/content/abstract-art-has-precise-purpose

From KVAL :Downtown Eugene is getting another splash of color Tuesday at noon. The Eugene Storefront Art Project will be installing three more art displays in vacant storefronts Tuesday in the 200 block of West Broadway near Charnelton . Local Art will occupy the former site of the Broadway Bistro.

Volunteers contact the owners of vacant properties, meet with them and then let the owner decide the type of art they want displayed in their storefront. The idea behind the project is to attract more traffic downtown and make it a more vibrant place. ESAP has been placing art in many empty storefronts in Eugene , Springfield and Junction City.

Organizers of the Eugene Storefront Art Project say they've had tons of positive comments for their previous art installations. They believe the art often serves as an advertisement for the building and makes people more aware of the space and more likely to return once a new business moves in.
