ESAP is on the First Friday Art Walk!

On April 1 at 6:00 pm at 200W. Broadway Eugene---
The Eugene Storefront Art Project (ESAP) was formed when Paula Goodbar, Marc Gunther , and Peter Herley all discovered that there was a serious problem in downtown Eugene. Businesses were closing or relocating and this group wanted to do something about it through the use of art. It's one year later and, to date, they have placed more than 50 artists in vacant storefronts and have set up art installations in more than 50 empty storefronts or businesses wanting to improve their aesthetics or community visibility. ESAP helped to create the Springfield 2nd Friday Art Walk and has created several pop-up galleries and events in Springfield and Eugene, bringing more interest, foot traffic, and hope to both Springfield and Eugene. ESAP is a non-profit 501c3, all unpaid volunteer organization and exists on the sheer drive and passion of Paula, Marc and Peter, along with donations and membership of more than 100 artists. The Lorig Group has made 200 W Broadway, formerly the Broadway Bistro, available to ESAP as a vacant storefront art gallery that turns into a pop-up gallery reception on First Fridays. This property is for lease and the Lorig Group has seized this opportunity to collaborate with ESAP and also showcase the space during the gallery receptions. This month, the featured artists are Randy Morrow, Michael Perkins, and Emily Schultz. Randy is exhibiting his sports-oriented work that displays his bold, graphic style. Emily is a figurative portrait painter that uses oils. Her paintings have a more romantic, warm and old master's style. Michael Perkins creates beautiful discs from steel drums. Other artists displaying work include Peter Herley, Robin Saxton, Paula Goodbar, Tina Schrager, and David P. Miller.
